What’s New in Red5 Cloud 1.3.0?
The Red5 Cloud 1.3.0 update, announced on March 25, 2025, introduced the following updates:
New Features
- Automatically-detected H.265 to H.264 transcoding on ingest when transcoding is enabled. This ensures compatible payback of WebRTC streams to all browsers.
- Hosted Round-trip and token authentication. Now you don’t have to write and host your own authentication applications.
- WebRTC streams can be provisioned in the UI. A convenient enhancement allowing better management of your WebRTC streams.
Bug Fixes and Enhancements
- Associated Mixer and Provisions are cleaned up when node groups are deleted
- Improved guidance on “Let’s Get You Started” page
- WebRTC Streams can now be deleted
- Both audio and video are now present for Test Streams
- Logo changed from RED5 to RED5 CLOUD
- Live Preview and Streams pages are now merged
- Updated Dev Resources page
- Issues with deployments in Jeddah region are resolved
Note: Red5 Cloud versions 1.4.0 to 1.6.0 were skipped for internal version alignment and will not be released.

What’s New in Red5 Cloud 1.8.0?
April 16, 2025 marked the arrival of Red5 Cloud 1.8.0 – a release packed with enhancements and bug fixes.
Bug Fixes and Enhancements
- RTMP Publish URL is now complete when copied from Streams
- Added Proxy user for limited access to Stream Manager API for creating provisions
- Validation for SRT parameters improved
- UX improvements, e.g. if nothing changed, don’t warn that changes will be lost
- Live Preview menu/page removed; functionality migrated to Streams page
- Random AES-128 passphrase generated by default for SRT streams
- Subscribe URL is now also available on all Streams
- Clicking on a stream name on Streams page displays video preview
- Test Streams is working correctly again
- RTSP Pull protocol added to Streams UI
Known issues
- After deleting a Zixi stream, it will still be active as a dynamic stream and that stream name will not be usable again. A workaround is to use a different stream name. Restarting the deployment from the menu will also reset the stream.
